Through analysis of the distribution regularity of fossils of the Jurassic charophyte in Turpan basin,aclistocha- ra grouping and aclistochara-mesochara-porochara grouping from bottom to top are established,the ages of which are the middle and late period in mid-Jurassic and late-Jurassic.
Early Cretaceous charophytes,Flabellochara harrisi and Peckisphaera verticillata are discovered in the pelitic siltstone,the lower section of Xinlong Formation from Napai Basin in southwest of Guangxi.
